Eidō (栄道) belongs to the Gyōkōbo sub-temple of the Enryakuji Issan parrish. He received shukke tokudo (ordination) at Enryaku-ji in August 2021 and completed his training at the Enryakuji Gyoin in the Spring of 2023. He is a student of Dr. Ryoei Tyler of Kongōsan Eigenji temple in California. Born into a family of practicing Buddhists, he cultivated devotion to the Buddhadharma since childhood. Eidō has a B.A. in History from the University of Rochester, M.A. in Religion from Columbia University, and J.D. from Northeastern University. He is an attorney and lives with his family outside of New York City.
Eidō leads Buddhist study and practice in the New York metro area for those interested in Lotus Sutra Buddhism in the Tendai Tradition.
